Chapter 9 is a group for couples in recovery. This is a fellowship for couples who have experienced addiction firsthand and understand the importance of individual recovery and couples recovery. Addiction impacts all persons involved: those who are using and those who are not. Therefore everyone needs a program of recovery and Chapter 9 offers support for couples. Chapter 9 is modeled after the Alcoholics/Narcotics Anonymous Program and incorporates the 12 Steps adjusted for couples. Chapter 9 facilitators understand the various issues that couples go through when one of them suffers from the disease of addiction. Communication, conflict resolution, trust, betrayal, anger, boundaries, priorities, and forgiveness are all subjects that get covered as a couple progresses through the steps.
