Alcohol Detox – Detox from alcohol is severe enough to cause life-threatening symptoms. We utilize appropriate medications for a safe and comfortable alcohol detox program. Medications used to reduce alcohol craving and reduce the risk of relapse include Naltrexone and Campral. Other medications can reduce the positive reinforcing effects of alcohol such as Antabuse. All these medications have no abuse potential. Our medical team may use these medications on an individual basis for detox and stabilization.

Opioid Detox (Opiates, prescription pain medication, heroin) — The use of MAT during an opioid detox program is generally associated with opioid agonists (medications that stimulate opioid receptors in the brain) to treat patients with Opioid Use Disorder. Examples of MAT used to treat Opioid Use Disorder include medications such as Suboxone and Buprenorphine. If you are diagnosed with an Opioid Use Disorder, our physicians and nurses may start you on Suboxone/Buprenorphine or help you maintain the correct dosage of Suboxone/Buprenorphine if you are already benefitting from this treatment.

Some medications are used to block the reinforcing effects of opioids, such as Naltrexone and Naloxone. Naltrexone is one example of MAT that is used in the detox and stabilization program.

Stimulant Drug Detox (cocaine, methamphetamine, Ritalin, Adderall) – Depending on the type, the frequency of use and quantity took, drug detox affects individuals differently. We understand that detox can be extremely uncomfortable, even painful, so we use proven medications to counteract any symptoms. Medications used to reduce stimulant drug craving and reduce the risk of relapse may include use of the antidepressant Wellbutrin. We utilize this medication on an individual basis in the stabilization program.
