Hitting Bumps on the Road to Recovery

Recovery and Relapse
Life is Full of Speed Bumps.

There are good days and bad days while in recovery. Sometimes the rut that you are stuck in becomes a slippery slope back into relapse. If you relapse, you may feel discouraged or disappointed; yet it’s important to remember that your decisions and actions can pull you out of your despair. Choosing to seek help at a drug or alcohol rehab can help you get back on track with your recovery. Singer Bobby Brown has openly struggled with drug abuse and alcoholism for years. He has claimed to be drug free, but still drinks alcohol. He has experienced several setbacks this year that have kept him from recovery. He was arrested for drinking and driving in March, only a month after his ex-wife Whitney Houston died. Although he checked himself into alcohol rehab, he checked out days later and has been arrested for another DUI. Hopefully his two DUI’s in 7 months will be a wake up call that will get him back into addiction treatment. If you feel that you have hit an obstacle, don’t just give up. We all hit bumps in the road, what matters is what you do about it. For Bobby Brown, his journey has not ended and hopefully he will find the path back towards recovery.
