Individualized Substance Abuse Treatment

Stepping Stone is licensed to provide five distinct levels of care of substance abuse treatment, each with their own schedule, activities, expectations, liberties, and medical and therapeutic attention. The levels generally run from inpatient detox and intensive inpatient rehab to a more flexible level, such as our intensive outpatient program.

Providing five levels of care allows us to treat each patient individually, providing the appropriate amount of medical and therapeutic attention at just the right time. There is no rigid timeline or path through the levels, as each patient has unique needs.

Inpatient Rehab

Inpatient Drug Rehab is our most clinically and therapeutically intensive level of care. Through a combination of therapy modalities (such as Cognitive Behavior Therapy) in group, individual, and recreational settings, patients begin to address topics such as trauma, destructive behavior, relapse prevention, trust, education, healthy social interactions, and more.

Our PHP and IOP Programs offer an intensive clinical day program while living in a therapeutic sober community. Our sober living facility, The Villages, provides patients with a living experience that will help them transition back to a “real world” environment. Our schedule includes daily, off-site 12-step meetings and weekend outings.

The Villages Recovery Residence

The Villages Recovery Residence is a sober living environment with a Resident first philosophy. By adhering to NARR (National Alliance for Recovery Residence) standards, The Villages is committed to assisting in the healing the lives of individuals, families, and communities by navigating them through their early recovery journey and providing a safe and secure environment.

Why Stepping Stone?

We treat the whole person, the mind, body, and spirit, simultaneously at our state-of-the-art and top-rated Florida drug and alcohol rehab location. Our multidisciplinary approach enables doctors and clinicians from different disciplines to coordinate patient needs in a comprehensive treatment plan.

In-depth look at our comprehensive substance abuse treatment programs:

  • Levels of Care – Stepping Stone is licensed to provide 5 levels of care which generally run from inpatient drug and alcohol detox, inpatient drug and alcohol rehab, to a more flexible intensive outpatient program.
  • Multidisciplinary Treatment Approach – We draw from a variety of professional and medical fields providing a well-rounded and comprehensive treatment experience. For example, a psychiatrist will evaluate the psychological functioning of the mind, a doctor will assess the physical body, a family therapist will address family dynamics, and a nutritionist will review eating habits.
  • Spirituality – A much overlooked and important component of treatment is spirituality. At Stepping Stone we provide you the tools and guidance to explore your spirituality.
  • Aftercare – Proper aftercare planning will ensure long-term sobriety. We help you plan your transition home and any continued support such as counseling, psychiatric services, sober living and much more.

That only touches the surface of an addiction treatment plan. 12-step meetings work to reinforce healthy social interactions and the development of a spiritual approach to sobriety. Only as each individual element of a patient is addressed can the whole person heal.

Other Advantages to Going to Stepping Stone

  1. A Safe and Comfortable Medical Detox

Letting go of drugs and alcohol can be a scary thought. The last thing we want you to worry about is an uncomfortable withdrawal period. At  Stepping Stone Center for Recovery in Florida, we have an on-site inpatient detox treatment unit where our doctors will, with the use of medication, safely and comfortably remove drugs and alcohol from your system.

  2. A Program for Dual Diagnosis Disorders

We specialize in treating dual diagnosis conditions. Often patients do not know they are suffering from addiction and co-occurring mental health disorders, such as depression or bipolar disorder. While struggling with addiction, these mental health problems often go undiagnosed and untreated. Sometimes drugs and alcohol bring on a mental health disorder, other times the disorder is the cause for the addiction.

Accurate diagnosis and treatment is important if a patient is to maintain sobriety.

  3. Individualized Treatment

There are thousands of reasons you may have become addicted to drugs or alcohol, all of which are important. Once we completely and thoroughly assess your condition, we will write a treatment plan that addresses your unique needs. This may include special detox needs, physical rehabilitation, or dual diagnosis treatment.

  4. A Licensed and Nationally Accredited Program

The Joint Commission, the nation’s leader in setting health care standards, not only credits us but also awards us their Gold Seal of Approval. You can feel confident choosing a licensed and accredited program that has passed extensive on-site reviews and continued monitoring by an objective third party.

  5. A Staff Dedicated to Patient Recovery

Our people are passionate about recovery, especially considering many of them are recovering from addiction themselves. They understand what you are going through. From the program director to our support technicians, you will find genuine support, compassion, and a real desire to see you succeed. It is a personal matter!

  6. Support and Treatment for the Whole Family

We provide sessions for families to help heal.  We work with you and your family to discuss addiction, past traumas, personal boundaries, and other destructive family dynamics. The family unit and the individual members of the unit must all work toward recovery.

Spirituality in Substance Abuse Treatment

Many know the treatment of addiction requires medical, psychiatric, and social interventions in a proper drug & alcohol rehabilitation program. However, another much overlooked and an important component is a spirituality. At Stepping Stone Center for Recovery, we provide you the opportunity to explore your spiritual connections.

Spirituality is often confused with religion. Religion is a method that some choose to express their spirituality. However, one can be practicing spirituality while not being involved with any particular religion, and even while being agnostic or atheist.

We discuss the topic of spirituality during treatment through groups, lectures, and individual counseling. We will help you discover your spirituality through journaling, meditating, and selected readings. In addition, all of the 12-step programs, such as Alcoholics Anonymous or Narcotics Anonymous, are spiritual programs, and you will attend them on a daily basis. 12-step programs are grounded in a spiritual understanding that remains undefined, allowing each individual to shape that understanding in his or her own way.

If you are interested in exploring your spirituality through religion, we are generally able to arrange a meeting on-site with an outside clergy member. We also offer non-denominational prayer on Sundays. We recognize that some people choose to explore faith in the context of religion. We can provide a complete Christian tract for those patients who want this experience of recovery and treatment.

Stepping Stone Center Involves the Family

If you have a family member or loved one that is struggling with addiction, there are many ways to help. From staging an intervention, to finding a treatment center, to finding help for yourself, you can take a proactive role in their recovery.

Always remember, you are dealing with a sick and suffering individual, and most of the terrible things they do while drinking or using drugs are not really who they are. Breaking the chains of addiction can be difficult to do alone. Help is available for both the family and the addict or alcoholic.

Detox from certain substances in one’s home can be life-threatening.

Treatment Schedule

Our daily treatment schedule offers a mix of activities to treat your drug or alcohol addiction. We believe addiction is a disease that afflicts the mind, body, and spirit, and have developed a program that treats all three. During the detox treatment phase, you typically are not required to attend all meetings.

Drug and alcohol treatment is intensive, but we still provide plenty of time for personal use, socializing, and recreation. This structure helps bring a routine back to your life while remaining flexible enough to personalize it to your specific needs.

The weekly treatment schedule presented below will give you an idea of what to expect, although it does change from time to time. It is very important to attend all activities.
